Rod Aycox is an extremely successful business man. He
started small when he founded his first company in the title loan industry at
just 24 years-old but he eventually grew it into a multi-million venture which
is now known as Select Management Resources. Select Management Resources
is the parent company of LoanMax, North American Title Loans and Midwest Title
Loans. LoanMax and its affiliated companies operate in more than twenty states
nationwide and has been a success for over 2 decades. However, apart from his thriving
business, Rod Aycox has continued to stay loyal to each community that he
serves by giving back.
On June 19, 2015 Rod Aycox
donated a large sum of money to the civil right and religious organizations
that help fight discrimination and increase tolerance. The announcement was
made in wake of the tragic attack that killed nine African American worshipers in Charleston, S.C Church. Rod Aycox stood proud to support a number of local
and national organizations. Those Organizations included the Emanuel African
Methodist Episcopal Church, the Anti-Defamation League, the Conference of
National Black Churches, the Council on American Islamic Relations, the Martin
Luther King, Jr International Chapel at Morehouse College, the NAACP, the
National Action Network, the National Council of La Raza, the National Urban
League, and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition.
On the
evening of June 17, 2015, a mass shooting took place at the Emanuel African
Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC. The Emanuel African Methodist
Episcopal Church, also known as the “Mother Emanuel” is one of the United
States oldest black churches and has long been a site for community
organizations around the civil rights. During a prayer service held at Mother
Emanuel Church nine people were killed by a gunman, including the senior pastor,
Clementa C. Pinckney. The morning after the attack, police arrested and later
identified, 21 year-old Dylann Roof as the shooter. Roof later confessed that
he committed the murders in hopes of igniting a race war.
Rod
announced that his heart was heavy due to the senseless murders that took place
at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. He hopes that his donation will
help organizations to speak out about fight intolerance and hatred in the
community and help improve the quality of life for everyone around our country.
