Fourth Ward Health and Education Center for Youth is
located in Houston, Texas. The center was established in what was formerly
known as Freedman’s Town by a lifelong resident, Darrell Patterson in 1970. In
order to keep the organization running, The Fourth Ward Health and Education
Center for Youth relies much on donations from those around the community!
On December 21, 2010 they got
a hefty donation from Rod Aycox. Rod Aycox is a successful business man who
operates over 1,000 stores in the title loan industry in more than twenty
states nationwide. Through his 25 years of accomplishments, Rod Aycox has
remained devoted to giving back to those around him in each community that he
serves. His large donation will go to helping the youth at the center with everything
from homework, to sports, to cleanup projects in the community! Rod Aycox
donation also helps provide a library and computer facilities along with
transporting kids to the nearest Boys and Girls Club to host youth sports teams
and tournaments. This is so important because this has given the youth a safe
place to go instead of finding trouble on the streets. As you know, the early
years of a child’s life is so very important for their health. Positive youth
development is an ongoing process, which is based to meet children’s basic
needs for safety, relationships and connections to those around the community.
Rod Aycox, ultimately has given the children of Houston, Taxes a safe place to
bond and build relationships through Fourth Ward Health and Education Center!
