Rod Aycox is Highly Destructive

On May 22, 2011 a highly destructive and deadly tornado tore through the city of Joplin, Missouri. It was part of a larger-May tornado outbreak and reached a maximum width of nearly 1 mile during its path through the southern part of the city. It rapidly intensified and tracked eastward across the city and then continued eastward into rural portions of Jasper county and Newton County. The EF-5 tornado injured over 1, 150 and killed 158 people that day. Overall, it was the deadliest tornado to strike the United States since 1947 and ranks as the costliest single tornado in US history.

Just a month after, Rod Aycox, founder of Select Management Resources donated a large sum of money to help with the United Way of Southwest Missouri and Southeast Kansas with its tornado relief effort. Rods generous donation went to helping with immediate and long-term recovery effort that were desperately needed after the devastation that occurred in May. The damages from the Joplin tornado amounted to a total of 2.8 billion dollars.
